“不杀，不打，不骂，不侮辱，不捆绑，不搜身”的“六不”纪律。在开战之前，印度方面将中国军人描绘得——如同日军一样，抓住就要砍头活埋。
中国方面对印度战俘无微不至的照顾，让印度被俘军人深受感动。许多人主动站出来，帮我军喊话劝降，主动告诉战友的下落。在当时被俘的印度战俘中
有来自12个民族，5种宗教信仰的士兵掺杂其中。
即便在战俘营里印度籍战俘对尼泊尔和巴基斯坦籍战俘经常欺负，甚至拳打脚踢，最终——不得不将这些不同民族的印度被俘士兵分开编队管理。
